<description>i find the julia roberts portrayal very amusing cos in a lot of ways, i think it mirrors her messed up emotional life/relationships. The other might be acting but i thought hers was the most intriguing cos one keep thinkg, "how much of it is her ? " If there is really much of her in the performance, its a courageous way to act ,feeding on your actual experiences/emotions so fully, leaving yourself extremely exposed.

Larry and Dan are both the same in the intensity of their obsessions. somehow I dont qualify their passions/emotions as love. Just obsessions. They are both alpha males, just that Larry is the more brutal/manipulative one. Both pissed (figuratively ) over their "territory" and are enraged when their "territory" are breached. Movie more about the two men than about relationships? Sex/the women are merely the battefields upon which they wage their war.

Just my thoughts.

Actually throughout the movie, i was ruminating on the beauty that is julia roberts. In her "presence", i am contented.
