His smooth transformation from struggling Jedi to power-hungry Sith was awaited by so many, and it was a great piece of acting if you ask me. Though I agree Natalie Portman did kind of dissapoint with such a shallow performance. Maybe I'm just defending Hayden because he's hot and from my hometown , but even before I thought he was hot, I still liked his role. I didn’t think Hayden Christensen was a cardboard cut-out.
