@ Hannah I know, I am hoping that it won’t be a drabby, soppy affair that’s just out to bring on the waterworks because the love story is so much more than that.

@ Miss Pot It can be confusing, I know! But it’s a good read if you cast aside all logic.

@ Dawn I loved how real their relationship is. It’s not all honey and sweetness but gritty and realistic.

@ Furla Heh heh you can watch with HY and then sob into his sleeves. I think I will be sobbing into Jimmy’s shirt.

I love the book! It’s heart wrenching and you could absolutely feel the love they had for each other through the pages. I’ve probably read it three to four times…

Rachel Mcadams should make a great Clare. Similar demeanour… Can’t wait for the movie! :)

hello! the book was such a riveting read, I read it twice and it’s now my official favourite cos it’s so bittersweet and believable. Was not very optimistic about the film though, but I watched Rachel Mcadams in The Notebook and I think she would make for a great Clare. :)
Am crossing my fingers that the film won’t disappoint, the trailer looks promising!

I felt the book to be so beautifully unusual, intelligent and moving that I have to admit I’m a little nervous about seeing this on film.

I have some hesitations about Rachel McAdams, if only because she seems too sweet and cute, and I felt the novel portrayed Clare as someone more gritty and earthy than conventionally beautiful. I also hope they don’t make the romance too schmaltzy Grey’s Anatomy style with soaring orchestral pieces and dialogue that’s just a bit too clever to be believed, because theirs just wasn’t an ordinary romance, was it?

Having said that, this looks gorgeous, and I can’t wait to see how they pull off the scene in The Cage, which was the most haunting scene of all to me.
